“Alebrijes” are a mexican tradition that was created during the first half of the 20th century. The cardboard worker Pedro Linares, is the original author of these figures.
Each of these entities reflects the pre-Hispanic deities, mixing attributes of fantastic and mythological entities that represent the animal world and its relationship with man. Many attribute healing powers to them by being able to reveal the deepest emotions according to the mysterious anatomy of each one.
The “Alebrije” of “Riqueza Cultural” represents the jaguar, a symbol of mexican culture, with eagle’s wings, sheep’s horns and a dragon’s tail.
